A Love Letter to South Asian Cuisine
I grew up in Tamil Nadu, where food wasn’t just sustenance, it was celebration, connection, and storytelling. The scent of curry leaves, the ritual of grinding spices, the joy of sharing a meal – all of it stayed with me when I moved to the UK. Years later, with Nutmeg in Clifton, I set out to honour the breadth of Indian cuisine, not the clichés, but the true regional richness I’d grown up with. We cooked with purpose, sourced with care, and let authenticity guide every plate. That first restaurant sparked something special.

Since then, The Nutmeg Group has grown into a family of restaurants, each with its own soul, but all rooted in the same values: culture, craft, and care. With Nadu, we paid tribute to Tamil heritage and Sri Lankan flavours. Kal Dosa brought back the nostalgia of South Indian train journeys. Nutmeg Street Kitchen took Indian street food to bold new places. And Bombil, our latest opening, captures the colour and chaos of Mumbai’s food scene. Each restaurant tells a different story, but all are chapters in the same journey.

What connects them is heart. We’re here to surprise and delight, to share the flavours of home, and to offer warm hospitality every step of the way. Our team is family. Our guests are friends. And our mission is simple: to change perceptions of South Asian food through authenticity, generosity, and a little bit of theatre. This is more than a group of restaurants, it’s a love letter to the food that made me who I am.
